LightfortheDay.com is a unique website established to provide daily encouragement from the light of God's Word. We publish an online calendar-style photograph with words from the Bible each day of the week. The arrows on the bottom right of the photo enable visitors to see the previous six daily photos. The Caption button provides a description of the photo and the full text and translation of each Bible verse, including the Bible verse of the day.
The Good News section features a series of Bible verses about receiving salvation by believing in Jesus. More Good News features Scripture verses on a variety of topics, including Peace, Help, Guidance, Hope, and Sleep.
LightfortheDay.com (LFTD) is non-commercial, and is not associated with any other organization. Launched in 2010, the website is privately owned and does not request contributions. Much of our work is done by volunteers. LFTD is the result of the developer’s long-term goal of finding a peaceful website that was not designed to to pull the visitor one direction or another with advertising or solicitations for a group.
On traditional computers, LFTD is designed to be used as a homepage so that you see good news, without any advertising or solicitations, every time you start your Internet browser. On tablets and mobile devices, LFTD may be bookmarked or added to your home screen.
LFTD is so blessed to be able to communicate with people all over the world who are interested in Jesus. We encourage you to share your comments and experiences with us by sending LFTD a message on the Contact Us form.
LFTD does not provide a daily email service, and is not active with social media.
LFTD’s website development and maintenance is provided by Base3 Creative in Montgomery, Alabama.
The photos originate from numerous photographers located all over the world, and we are thankful to be able to display them on LFTD. The photos are subject to a wide variety of licensing and copyright limitations. It is not permitted to copy and post the photos on any website, including social media websites and photo-sharing websites.
We are always on the lookout for good photos. If you would like to submit photos that you have taken for possible use on LightfortheDay.com, the following guidelines apply.
If a photographer has a substantial collection (100+) of quality photos that fit the LFTD style (without people in most circumstances), taken at a variety of different places, available to be seen on a photo-sharing website (e.g., Flickr, 500 Pixels, Smugmug, Photobucket, Google Photos), we would be glad to review them and consider them for the website. LFTD does not have systems in place to receive or review individual photos.
If you would like to help share the gospel message in a manner that does not include any advertising or solicitations, we encourage you to share a link to LightfortheDay.com on your website.
The simplest method is to create a text-based link to LightfortheDay.com on your website. In addition, the following graphics may be freely used to create a link. Click on a graphic and it will open in a new window where the graphic can be saved to your computer. If you would like a different size, color, or style of graphic, please Contact Us.
For visitors residing in the USA, we have developed a colorful handout card (business card size) to help spread the news about LFTD. If you live in the USA and are interested in receiving a complimentary set of the cards, send LFTD a request using the Contact Us form. Include your name and mailing address (street or Post Office Box). The images below show the front and back of the card.
LightfortheDay.com displays a wide variety of English translations of the Holy Bible. The full text and translation of each Bible verse is always included in the Caption button for each photo.
